About Webmaster Sherpa

A sherpa is a member of a Tibetan people known for providing support for foreign trekkers and mountain climbers. Like the sherpas, I hope, through this site, to provide support for those trekking through the difficult terrain that faces most do-it-yourself webmasters.

On this site you will find explanatory text about different concepts, theories, experiences and recommended practices. You will also find essential reference material. The goal is for you to be able to use this site first to learn webmaster skills and then as an ongoing reference. This will be especially useful for those concepts you recall on a theoretical level but for which you don't have an everyday working usage knowledge. You could perform a Google search (as I often do) but my hope is that this site will be so well-organized that it will be your first reference source (as it is mine).

Note: This is not written by an "expert." My knowledge is mostly self-taught. My goal is to show you the true "essentials" I have learned by lots of reading and exploration (and, sadly, far too much frustration).
